Motorists must move over over a lane of traffic (if it is safe) for any vehicle displaying flashing lights stopped alongside a freeway or highway.
In the past we only had to move over for emergency vehicles.
Now this law can protect us if we break down or have a flat… How?
Add a flashlight that blinks, red, blue or amber to your emergency kit in the back of your car (change the batteries every 6-9 months)
When stranded put the light behind car so it can be seen by approaching motorists
When cars approach us stranded, they have to move over providing us with a few more feet of safety
